The new Kaya KTB is arrived; I've tested it and shoots well.

Unfortunately she has a defect: there are some parts of covering limbs fabric that are very dirty, seems motor' grease, see attached pic - sorry, i realised not to be able to insert an image into the post.
Could somebody suggests me how the fabric can be cleaned ( with dishwashing detergent and water ?... other cleaners ? ) or if there is any risk in doing so ?

I bougth it from an online dealer and as it seems only an aesthetic defect, I think it is not worth of starting a refund/return discussion with dealer.

Greetings from new member in Seoul, South Korea

Greetings, dear members of korean traditional archery forum

I'm Jayjung Lee, a 21-year old South Korean university student who will be discharged from military service in a week.
(Yes, due to its special national security environment, the country requires all legible male adults to serve in the military for about 2 years, mandatorily)

I've become interested in traditional korean archery since 2004, and started studying the archery mainly by reading books, papers, and visiting museums. During the process have had met Artisan Mr. Young-gi Yu, one of the few traditional fletchers in South Korea, and joined the ATARN forums to ask some questions regarding archery. I remember Mr. Duvernay answering some of my questions, and though briefly, I have also seen him at International Archery Festival held at Cheonahn, South Korea in 2007. But at that time, I believe Mr. Duvernay didn't recognize me.

And now that I'am about to be set free from the long service in the ROK army, I'm planning to start learning traditional korean archery at Salgogee-jeong(살곶이정), near Hanyang University in Seoul.(Yes, I attend this university)
I'm humbly looking forward to receive your valuable advice. Thank you.

Sinsigel

I am currently in Thailand and practice it in a shorter range.
It 's quite lonely as many people here practice western style archery. It 's great to join this forum and communicate with other traditional Korean bow guys.

My form is not yet consistent but I am trying to improve it.

Hi Guys, i´m about to close a deal buying 2 Kaya Windfighters, i don´t know why it usually is the underrated of the 3 Kayas, but judging by what i´ve seen in the videos of the youtube it´s a good shooter, i also liked the Kaya Khan, but 28# draw length isn´t sufficient.

Anyways, i was checking some arrows for it, and i have no idea what to buy, any ideas?
I found this ones, http://archery.ixpesports.nl/contents/e … rrows.html which one would be more appropriate? I intend to shoot up to 45 meters and 3D competitions.

Thanks,
Gabriel

Im looking to see if there is a formula for the tong-ah arrow.

Formula, meaning a lenght, or weight of arrow based on the draw weight of the bow?

I'm really excited about trying this, but would like to keep the bow in one piece. If any of you have had a bow blow up on you, you know what I mean.

Generally I try to keep my arrows 7-8 grains per pound of draw weight. Going to be very hard to maintain that with half an arrow

Any thoughts or ideas, and experiences would be appreciated.

raven
