Hello,
I have a monarch that is 80 pounds.
The bow is like new condition with the exception of some normal wear on the aero pass.
Bow shoots very well for both fingers and ring.
More weight than I wanna shoot anymore. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I can provide as many pictures as you like. Please feel free to text at 616-666-0823.

I would consider a trade with cash for a lighter YMG or HWARANG.

I’m asking 100.00 USD + 25.00 for shipping.

This leads me to the question, what is the traditional length of the KTA? And does anybody have any references for a standard or general length?

I haven’t shot the KTA in the past few years. Is this some thing new?
Also-where did all of these bowyers come from?

Does YMG and SMG and Hwarang still around?

Thank you

It really kind of depends upon the company. Generally, 48/49".

YMG and Hwarang (my company) are still around. SMG supposedly is, but I haven't seen much of them in some time.

Thank you for getting back to me Mr. Duvernay.

So I suppose the longer lengths that I am seeing from newer manufacturers is a newer concept and not one that is altogether traditional.

I was able to see the long siyahs on the tombs of Goguryeo.
It would be interesting to see when transition was made and the reasoning behind it.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this is a bow type not frequently talked about internationally that relates to Koreanic people.  Not everything seems to get published for international consumption among some of these countries especially given the somewhat esoteric reach and nature of the subject at hand.

When you say esoteric are you referring to Taoism? Dr Duvernay could possibly shed some light on that subject?

In Korea their resides a statue of a Korean an archer on horseback with a representation of a Korean bow that looks more like a step horseman bow than the Korean traditional bow we know today.
(Which in my humble opinion is the far superior bow)

Given that the statue resides in Korea-it’s curious to me that it does not more closely resemble the KTB as we know it today?

Does anybody have any insights into why that boat would be depicted in such a way?

It appears that everything else was meticulously planned clothing etc. It’s curious to me that the bow would have been haphazardly put together when creating the statue.

Which brings me to another question.
What are the oldest depictions, artist renderings, examples of the Korean traditional bow that we know today?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if YMG still sells Korean Bow directly anymore?
Or are all the bows sold via distributors?

Did you ever sell this bow?

Most takedowns have a robust riser. It does not seem to me that a standard Korean style riser would have enough behind it to accommodate a takedown.

That being said, I think would be a great idea. Just not sure how practical it would be.

Up for sale is my Mariner Han I from 2012.  Its early generation and had near impeccable workmanship.  It was used fairly regularly from Fall 2012 to Spring 2014 and then sporadically past then.  In great shape with plenty of life left.  Rated 50@32".  Price is 200 USD.  Price does not include shipping.  That will have to be determined based upon where this is going.  Comes with string and bow sock.

Although the idea of the bow losing integrity after getting warm is a practical one, the experience that I have had with several SMG bows is that they are very strong and hearty.
That my experience with the SMG, not necessarily yours.

Very unnerving to have a strong work is way off.

Hope you figure it out.

Dear friends,

Unfortunately, I have to let go of a wonderful, just about brand new bow I purchased from another forumite a year ago. I have never used it, as after I purchased it, I suffered a relapse of a bad elbow injury that basically prevented me from picking up a cup of coffee without experiencing pain; forget about drawing a 60# bow! Went through physical therapy all fall, but now have to build back up with  my wife's 40 pounder.

So this is an SMG bow; bought by the fellow forumite in January of 2014; sold a month after to me. As I wrote, I never used it. It is in absolutely new condition. The owner put a beaver tail handle and strike plates on the bow. As he wrote, they look great and the handle provides a sure grip. It is easily removed if you want.

The bow originally posted for $265, plus shipping and PayPal fees of 3%. I would offer it for $250 plus shipping and PayPal fees.

Let me know-- This is a fantastic price for a pristine SMG!

(side note: looks like I'm not the only one who has to sell a bow bc of an injury. For everyone else: hope you all treat archery as a physical activity like any other one --running, weight lifting! -- and warm up your wrists, arms, and back before you shoot a two hundred arrows at the range...)

Hello Can I get some up close photos of handle and riser sent to Joseph.garvon@icloud.com ?

Thank you!

Price lowered to 280.00 plus paypal charge of 280.00. I'll take care of the shipping cost here in the U.S.
Outside of U.S.? Let me know where and I can get you a quote.

I would like to get 300.00 USD out of the bow.

The reason that I am selling the bow is to simplify, so that I can pay attention to the more important things in life. A man can only shoot so many bows, and only one at a time wink

32 inches is the max draw length. A very smooth drawing bow all the way out to 32".

Let me know what you think.

Thank you

Chinese Traditional Archery. This bow is like new and really performs. The bow has no shelf, and can be shot either left or right handed.Very stable and smooth. It is just as fast as any Saluki that I have shot at this weight.
The siyahs and riser are both made of maple with two lams of bamboo and clear glass on belly/back, with phenolic tips.
I will include a bow sock and a thumb ring. If the bow is not as described, send it back and I will refund you the money minus the shipping cost.
The website for the bowyer is http://www.cinnabarbow.com/marinerbows/index. html Mariner's cost have recently gone up for all the bows, and this bow brand new is 405.00 plus shipping, which makes this a great deal.

Thanks for looking. If you have any more questions or would like to have some photos, my email is joseph.garvon@gmail.com or you can call or text to 616.666.0823

For sale a YMG Hwarang. The bow is in very good condition, but does have one mark on the birch bark which you will be able to see from the photos.

I would like to have 300.00 plus 25 shipping and if you pay with paypal, 3%

Once again, this bow is in great shape, and extremely fast.

This bow was just delivered last month.
I ordered this bow, and then was able to buy a heavier one from Hannu. Which is what I prefer.

The bow is in new condition. I did put a beaver tail handle and strike plates on the bow. Looks really nice! And provides more filler for the hand. Easily removed if someone wanted to.

The bow is 60@31.

I will take 265.00 for it plus shipping. If I ship outside the U.S. the buyer will have to pay shipping cost above 25.00 USD.

That looks great, both sissara and misterwonky.

Gives me hope that I might be able to do something with mine.

Any chance a guy could just polish the carbon and leave it that way?

I'm with you Thomas, in regards to the aesthetic of birch bark.

Just struggle a little bit with the want to take it to the woods, and the fear of hurting it.

But the birch bark looks great!

Snake skin is a great idea. Might have to think about that if the birch bark on mine ever goes bad.

Can you take some pics of limbs without the birch bark?

I would like to see what it looks like.
The more I think about it, the more that I think it probably would look really nice to put a nice finish on it.

It would be great to see some photos.
