No, mine is a stock right-handed Khan (left side window); I just shot it with a thumb ring like any other Korean bow.

But you still shoot right-handed, bow on left hand, arrow on left side of bow?

I have try that with normal recurve, but arrow just goes far left.

I read "Kays thumbring book", and she says, mongolian archers can shoot both sides, so it is not matter which side of the bow arrow is.

Hope you understand my bad english... hmm

Thanks for Your reply. Very informative.

The only species allowed for bow hunting, where I live, is Roe deer, fox, rabbit and smaller animals. Denmark is the country.
Energy is mandatory. 40joule "at the muzzle" so to speak is the requirement by law.

So the bow must deliver that amount of power.

Looking forward to the Chrono measures. ;-)

Here in Finland draw weight must be over 40#.
Roe deer is also biggest game.

Yes, it is my wifes sewing string (is this right word?) That thing that you use with needle to fix clothes... tongue

I use superglue over wrapped string.

This way fletchs holds up, although just tape sticks good too.

Remember to make thin wrapping, or it will hurt you bow and hand...  yikes  First time i made this with heavy string, my hungarian bows hornplate from handle broke... sad
So very thin string and very thin wrapping...

Nice looking arrows.

I tie some thread on my fletchs, better when you shoot on hand, without any shelf.

Better put some pic...

Arrows are Easton Powerflights.

Edit: Also i use fletchtape, easy to use and smells better... wink

Hannu,

Shipped is $315.

I asked about Finland because I used to have a girlfriend there (over thirty years ago); maybe I mentioned it before?  Her hometown is Kiiminki, near Oulu.  I visited her and her family back in 1980.  Beautiful country and really nice people...

Ok, that is not bad for shipped bow. I must think it, will send you a mail soon.

I was close to move in Kiiminki for job. There was place for ambulance, so i am a paramedic, but it is little too far for my family, 300 kilometers.

Now i live in Central Finland, in Jyväskylä. Not so cold in winter... smile

Hannu,

You're in Finland, right?  I can get you a KTB, if you'd like, and ship it there.  Let me know.

T

Yes, in Finland.

Well, must think it. Only problem is customs, they want some money too... smile

What is price shipped? Local dealer sells 250$+ shipping, but i don´t like to wait so long...

I had Samick SKB, but i like to have real korean bow.
I have turkish bow, but it is 70#@28", little too heavy for Korean style. My draw lenght is ~27" with thumbring for this bow.
55# Kaya should be good for long draw, like 30" or more.

My next bow will be KTB.

Only problem is, local dealer says, it take few months to get one, but i think it is worth it...

hannu, it is measured at 28".  i tested mine to about 27, which is what my draw is, and it was about 52 lbs

Ok, thanks.
It is very smooth bow compared to my Old Scythian from Grozer, which is 50#.

If Kaya is even better, i must get one, or might think to buy Hwarang too...

I have been shoot with maguar and turkish bows with Mediterranean draw.

When i moved to thumbring, first arrows went right. But soon i started to hit.

I just look in the centre of target, draw and let go. If i start aiming, i miss.

i´m not canting the bow.

Nocking point is brass nock.

I just get Samick SKB 55#, and must say, i´m impressed. Light and small, but very fast bow.

I meant to buy Kaya KTB, but there is quite long delivery time, Samick only takes few days.

But i will order Kaya later.

I have been use thumbring for few weeks now, and won´t go back to finger release.

I also have scythian and maguar bows, also shoot with thumbring.

By the way, anybody know, is Samick measured 28" or 30"?
