Topic: 궁대/ Kungdae

Hello,

I've been interested in a belt/bow case used by korrean archers instead (in addition to???) quiver. Personaly I don't use quiver while shooting, rather  than that I keep them behind leather belt (or try to hold them in my hand). Since I am in need of new bow case I figured it would be nice to make myself one of those. I've only seen how to tie it and when trying to google search it i got only pictures of it (always folded) . I am interested in what lenght should it be, whether it is simply a sack empty inside or maybe it has pockets or whatever else relevant to a person wanting to make one and finaly whether I would't be making a faux pas be wearing one. I have read it is connected to a ranking system in KTA so I wonder whether it is perfectly ok to wear one, not being an actual adept.

Thumbs up

Take a look at http://198.170.107.188/phpBB2/viewtopic … ean+quiver  Both Maruchi and Mechwar know a lot about Korean bow quivers.

Re: 궁대/ Kungdae

Thanks, but I meant somthing more like belts shown here:
http://www.ktarchery.com/node/62
or what is shown on page 63 of your book. Also I've searched ATARN for "kungdae" and "korean belt quiver" with no results.
My  post might have been misleeding, but again I am looking for something as shown in the link.

Ah, sorry about that--It was about 4 a.m. when I wrote that, so I didn't pay attention to your thread title (your mention of "bow case" is what threw me).  I can give you the info you need  smile   They are about 85" long and 5" wide.  While it is empty inside, the very end (6-1/2") is made like an outside pocket.  I hope that info helps.
