Topic: Horn bow set?

Would a horn and sinew bow "take set" as it is used, so that it could be unstrung and look like an unstrung YMG, and then eventually regain its reflex? Is this a real hornbow or something else, maybe a YMG bow?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hpysp0OkGU0

Or would a well reflexed horn bow have a ton more early draw weight for the same final draw weight, compared to something like a YMG synthetic bow?

Thanks

Re: Horn bow set?

That video is preceeded by him demonstrating the technique he uses to string and brace the bow (horn) as he uses the hot plate to heat and soften the horn to "train it" into position.
Depending on waht the humidity is that day is an be a nice perfect shape such as on the day he shot this vid or it can look like a great big "P" lol  but will still shoot well.
Here is the link to the part 1 video

Re: Horn bow set?

So it took a lot of set... Looks like a hwarang or something when unstrung. So maybe it wouldn't feel that different or perform a ton better?
I also saw the bracing video but was unsure if it was the same bow. Same thread color and same tip covering color, so I guess it is.
