Topic: Takedown KTB

Hi, i wonder if it is possible to find a bowyer that does a takedown version of a korean bow with modern materials. Is anybody aware of a bow or a bowyer that does this?
Also i wonder if it would be possible to fashion one out of an 53inch nomad ktb carbon from freddie archery for example. Maybe a takedown system similar of what Attila Keresztes with his Vadleány  bows does. You could put another plate behind the handle and run the bolts thru both of the plates. To make this handle more comfortable a thick temporary padding could be added. Just some crazy thoughts but i think a takedown KTB would be just super osome! What do you think?

Re: Takedown KTB

None that I know of. I recommended it to a bowyer many years ago but nothing ever came of it that I know of...

Re: Takedown KTB

Most takedowns have a robust riser. It does not seem to me that a standard Korean style riser would have enough behind it to accommodate a takedown.

That being said, I think would be a great idea. Just not sure how practical it would be.

Re: Takedown KTB

sadly no korean bow maker has made one, but a couple indonesian bowyers have made takedown korean style bows. i bought one from aj archery a few months ago. it has a very different feel to it being a fiberglass bending construction, and its heavier.
