Re: Critique wanted

accuracy is okay in my eyes, could be better, sure, but im still in the learning phase, so im happy with hitting 80% of my 3d targets so far

i group worse compared to my recurve, but i cant aim with the thumb style, so that is all just feeling, no system

Re: Critique wanted

I'm sure you can figure out some way to aim. If nothing else your brain will start calculating where to hold to hit the target.
Traditional shooters here call it "instinctive shooting". It's just a matter of lots and lots of practice. Good luck.   wink

Re: Critique wanted

The arrow will be your biggest critic is it flying straight, is it making excessive noise on the riser, when it hits the target is it nock left or right, those are the best or worst indicators of your form.  A good prctice is to shoot fletchless arrows at about 10-12 meters away this will show how good your form (release etc) is because the arrow does not have the fletch to stabilize flight and the short range does not allow for the arrow to recover from a sub par release.

Re: Critique wanted

WB, the arrow should be much faster than if you drew to 32".

Do you have photos of the Kyudo arrows?

Re: Critique wanted

Re: Critique wanted

yeah, i could, but this draw lenght feels fine for me,
sometime i pull everything i got to show guys what this type of bow can do, but with that draw lenght and weight, it feels just right for me

Re: Critique wanted

I use to shoot like you, Warbeast. It 's ok as long as the shots are consistent. But my master doesn't like the way bow hand drop too fast. He explained that the follow through reflects not enough pushing on bow hand (or pushing to the wrong direction or using the wrong muscle).
