Topic: Designing a Thumb Ring!

Hello My fellow traditional archery enthusiasts!
I have been very interested in archery for a few years now.  About a year ago stumbled upon traditional Korean archery in particular the use of a thumb draw with ring. I have been working very hard to trying to make a usable thumb ring for myself. I have tried many designs to try to get it correct.  My current iteration looks like so:(attached to post) and here is a link

I’m still not happy with the design as my thumb gets sore fast and grouping is inconsistent.  I was wondering if anyone could give, some incite or critique of the design?  I have this ring 3d Modeled and can make virtually any design change!

Re: Designing a Thumb Ring!

That looks like a pretty sharp edge on the inside of the thumb, that's bound to hurt. Got a cross section view?

Re: Designing a Thumb Ring!

in yours it looks like the hole is not long enough and too narrow?

Here's a 3d model I modified, of a ring.. I put a piece of leather on it and it's pretty good, printed with wood PLA and tested with 50#

a piece of leather like this one that i just cut with scissors ...

I have modified the design little now after some testing. i made a lager ridge on the base to prevent the string from moving.

Here is a cross section view of the ring
