Topic: Broken Bow

I inherited my family's Korean bow. I took it to an archery store, and they noticed that the limbs were askew, and creaked when tension was put on it. They were worried that the bow is broken and has fractures.  They said that it's worth more as a display.
Any suggestions about knowing if it truly is broken?

Re: Broken Bow

If possible, please show detailed photos from different angles.  Although it isn't conclusive (much damage can be below the surface), it might show if there are any visible problems.  However, it is true that most horn bows that have not been kept in proper storage, are old, and unused, will probably not be suitable for shooting and only for display.

Re: Broken Bow

History has proven time and again that most horn bows that have not been kept in fitting stockpiling, are old, and unused, will likely not be suitable for shooting and just for showcase.
