Is there an available FDC for the Hwarang anyplace? Would like to see one 50#@28", but any weight would do.

You can get 33" bamboo shafts from Rudderbows Archery. Straightened, heat tempered.
$25.00/half dozen. By the time they're worked-up you can probably get 33.5"  smile

jbl, I don't know how old you are, but you may find (as I have) that those kinds of outings
will increase with age, and you will not mind at all. As you you say, just to be out there and be a part of God's creation.

Looks too dangerous to me.................like a "Murphy's Law" thing. Anyway, from what I've read, you don't break too many bamboo arrows.

But.... that "barrel" does have a name, so maybe it WAS used historically.

Looked interesting, but was this  something done historically, or a "hollywood" gimmic?
Can't see any advantage in it's use, would seem that something that small (short) would be
unstable at any distance, and would also lose a lot of momentum (penetration). Must be a lot of friction also, sliding down that long "barrel"

Think I'll stick with the 50# draw weight. Even if it does FEEL lighter that will be to my benefit, and will make extending the draw length somewhat easier.

I have a general question on the draw weights of these bows. The brochure and reviews talk about how the actual poundage of the bow SEEMS to be much less when it's drawn, but in actuality is the poundage stated for the bow. Does everyone (anyone) agree with this synopsis, and if so, what weight would I be comfortable with ordering if I am currently shooting a western recurve 49# @ 26" draw-length, anchoring with string-hand thumb around jaw bone? I want to shoot as much poundage as I am comfortable with, but taking into consideration I also want to try (at least) to extend my draw length as per the Korean draw because I understand that the REAL performance of a Korean bow comes with that extended draw. Initially I figured a 50# pound bow, which, being configured at a 28" draw, would give me , at my 26" DL, approximately 44#. BUT..... if that is going to FEEL like 34# maybe I should order a heavier draw weight?
    Any thoughts?

Yes, if this is still a question, I'd like to remain.

Although I've never used them, bamboo arrows fascinate me, just from peoples reviews and brief explinations of how they perform. I intend to make my next set of arrows out of bamboo, and will experiment with them thoroughly. Will use them to hunt with, but God knows when I might have any insight as to how they perform on game animals. From what I've read, they are comparatively heavier than other arrow materials (except hardwoods), easy to tune to your bow, and penetrate VERY well.   I'm excited!!

Can these bows be braced using a longbow stringer, where leather "cups" are placed over both of the limb nocks?  tongue

Hi MrJoe, new here myself. You said you were ordering the KTB, may I ask where are you ordering from? Or, if anyone else knows, please chime in. Thanks all.
