a1111318,
My 55 lb @ 31" Kaya KTB had a similar, but not quite as bad twist in the upper limb.  I twisted the limbs into alignment, and left the bow braced for a couple of days while 'excercising' the bow, then re-aligning the limbs.  This has made the twist less bad.  Some 1000 arrows later, and the twist has not got any worse, and it does not interfere with the shooting of the bow :)
Have fun !

Raven,
Looks like nobody has responded !
While I don't have a Kaya Windfighter, I do have a Kaya Khan & a Kaya KTB.  IIRC the Windfighter is like a Khan minus the arrow shelf.
The fit and finish of these bows is good.  My KTB has a slight twist in the upper limb, but this has not affected its performance in the slightest.  The Khan is dead nuts straight.
Both bows are very pleasant to shoot - I shoot both with a thumb-ring, even though the Khan, with its arrow shelf, is supposed to shot conventionally.
My 55 lb @ 28" Khan manages 185 fps with 467 gr. arrows.
I would say go for the Windfighter smile
Good luck smile

sepharad,

With my 55 lb Kaya KTB & Easton ACC 3L-18 arrows, I get quite a bit of side-to-side motion initially in the arrows filght.  This calms down after ca 15 m; I would suspect that this is to do with the low brace height of the KTB (the centershot is very much greater than on 'standard' bows with brace heights of 6" or more).

Have you checked your nocking point locations ?  Try shooting some bare shafts along with the fletched at ca. 20 yd/m, and see if they impact in the same vertical plane.

Have fun !

Hello to All,

My name is Russ and I have just joined; I live in Hastings in the UK.

I usually shoot Olympic style recurve bows, but last year I had my interest in 'Eastern' bows stimulated by reading Prof. Duvernay's book on 'Korean Traditional Archery'.

I have a Kaya Khan (55 lb) and Kaya KTB (55 lb), both of which are shot with a thumb ring.

Have fun  smile

Best regards

Russ
