Yes, it was a humane kill.  The bow has high-energy cams and the placement was perfect.  The arrow probably went through lung, heart and lung in that order.

The only way to make that hunt even more humane is through the use of firearm.

I have always used a two blade broadhead, but I am thinking of giving a three blade one a try.  If I do I will let you know.

The video you posted really shows what a well tuned arrow will do to game.  One good humane kill.

The triangular broadheads look like Avar arrowheads.

Have never used them, but they have excellent reviews, and I base a lot of my purchases on the reviews. wink

Okay, this shot was done with a very high energy Mathews and not a trad bow.  However, it really shows how a hunt should be with a combination of perfect placement, very sharp & wide diameter broadhead and kinetic energy.

What do you guys think about these three blade broadheads?  http://www.3riversarchery.com/Arrows+%2 … oduct.html

Instead of starting a new thread, I will continue here.  3Rivers is selling tanged arrowheads now!  As you would expect, the price is way up there: http://search.3riversarchery.com/nav/ca … typoints/0

WB, you need very stiff bamboo shafts at that length of draw  big_smile .

WB, the arrow should be much faster than if you drew to 32".

Do you have photos of the Kyudo arrows?

WB, the chap besides you look terrified!  He probably thought that the limbs might came apart!

WB, how long are those Kyudo shafts that you used?  The limbs are almost or at parallel - nice looking bow  big_smile

Tiwaz, that's great news too!  34" carbon shafts should maximize our KTB's capability.  What will the spine of  these shafts be at 34" in length?  Remember a 60# KTB is around 85#+ @34" draw.

Can we purchase Korean carbon arrow shafts and make our own arrows?  I notice SMG carbon arrows' shafts are much thicker than western carbon arrows.

I don't have a digital caliber.  The SMG arrows are quite thick for carbon shafts.  They are almost as thick as 2219 fatboys.

Nice!  The tong-ah is essentially a crossbow system.

Grozer has been selling bows made with the biocomposite technology for a couple of years already: sinew plate/fiberglass + wood core + fiberglass/horn plate.  Lately, they introduced new shape to their biocomposite bows.  I am curious if SMG will update their laminated horn bow technology by incorporating a sinew layer on the back side of the bamboo core.

Let's hope the laminated horn bow from SMG will start selling again.

I think the Nomad G4 Bashkir in 80# or above will be able to effectively utilize those 315 grains Ashby or similar broadheads.

That sounds great!

A full 32" draw on a 45# KTB will easily be above 50#.  For broadheads, what do you guys recommend for big Alaskan games?  I hear very good reviews for the Silver Flame.  Is a big piece of stainless steel overkill for hunting big games?  They are not cheap.

Warbeast, Canada and the US get plenty of game animals.  US get most of the wild hogs.  Isn't hunting wild hogs a very popular event in Germany?

Nice!  Did you use wood shafts to get to have a 34" draw?

jbl, I will contact Brandywine.  Do you find the hybrid footing method better than the traditional splicing method?
