Hi there,
I was talking to a friend of mine in America, who has 2 bows a Kaya and a SMG bamboo, his only complaint is that the Kaya poundage is 10# below what´s rated in the bow, and his 45# SMG actually is a 40#, and yes he measured them at 30",31".
Has anyone here heard or ad any similar experience?

Actually the so called artificial horn bow is a laminated fiber glass bow, in Korea they call the fiber glass laminated artifitial horn, misleading i know, just clarifying, a Korean friend told me about it.

The Y M Jang bow is the same YMG from Hwarang or other maker, sorry for asking i know J and G are diferent, but in Korean phonetics could be the same thing.

Anyone could talk more about the bamboo bow and the horn bamboo bow? Are they accepted in traditional competitions or just  horn bows are allowed?
Thanks
Gabriel

Hi there, i was looking at the Hwarang Yeun Moo Goong website and noticed he offers bows in 3 sizes, long, standard and small, just wondering if anyone here tried the long version and if you noticed any difference in comparison to the other sizes, my guess is that the longer should have a smoother draw, but could just be the same as the others.

What´s a jang-gung and a jung-gung bow?

Bluelake what has Freddie said after your dropped him this complaints? You know, i don´t know if it´s done, but i guess it would be ideal to tests this bows before send them out for use, a single person should be in charge for that, if they want to hire me i´d go to Korea to do that hehehe.

DEAGOL it´s really unfortunate this things are happening, but as HUN said this bow has a limit in drawing, if one does over stretch it it won´t stand it, i have a Windifighter and a friend of mine also has one, so far no problems, i also have a Hwarang YMG 53# that has a small problem, the string move away from the bridges, and if you keep shooting like 3 in a ow without fixing it, it´ll snap out, that´s how i discovered. The bow shoots well, but has this minor inconvenience, i can´t pass this bow along as this has this problem, i´ll just keep it, cos i know how to handle it.

EM what happened to your KTB after one year? What´s the lifespan of a bow?

I believe the Kaya, has to review this minor errors and try to sort them out, if it wants to continue their business, most complaints are regarding bad gluing lamination split  and so forth, thing which don´t look to difficult to solve. perhaps those wraps near the tips and grips could be a standard in all their bows.

Felidae, i have the same problem with my Hwarang YMG bow i bought from him in Qinghai in July, i align the string in the midle of the bridge, but one i shoot i goes sideways from the middle, and if i keep shooting the string i´ll come out of the bow. After every shot i have to realign. But i can´t send it to Korean, i´ll have to keep it.

Could you take a picture and show in it how to do it? It has 2 layers, or one thick layer in which i will unfurl until i reach the appropriate thickness?

How to pill off the first layer of the serving place? Using a knife? From where do i start, i don´t see a tread from which i could start stripping it off.

Ohh thanks for the information, i had the impression that the serving thick string was sort of glued, so i can remove it right, good to know that, thanks Sissara, by the way i had some pictures of you from the Ledu Tournament in my facebook look for Gabriel Almeida, cheers bye!

Let me know how is it going, did you notice a lot of difference in drawing comparing 50# and 55#?

I own a Windfighter 55#, i have it for a while, and i shoot lots of arrows, seems in good shape, and i hope it stays that way, i shoot 3 fingers release, i just can´t shoot mongolian release, i´ve tried. Now i also own a Hwarang which  i bought in Ledu-Qinghai during a tournament, so i´ll be using them at random, the serving of the Hwarang is quite thick, so i just use wood arrows with a wider nocks (they´re self nocks), the carbons i have don´t fit in the Hwarang serving, as it´s far too thick. It´s very sad to read such things are happening to the Windfighter, but if you´ve broken quite a few in a short period of time, it´s odd indeed. Long life to mine Windfighter!

Thanks  Sissara and Warbeast, i don´t understand why it doesn´t affect the mongolian release shooter and affects the others, the string pulled is the same anyway.

Raven that´s for dropping by, how about tip weight? 100 or 125 grains, when should one choose one over the other?

About the "other" bows, a friend of mine makes bow testings for our archery magazine.
He has tested a "windfighter" traditional korean bow. The result is poor, the bow is fast and confortable, but after les than 200 arrows, is falls in pieces, the handles, tissue over the limbs and leather at the limb tips is falling apart...

Should i be intimidated by this comment and do not buy a Kaya Windfighter? Windfighter owners what´s you view on this one?

Hi Guys, i´m about to close a deal buying 2 Kaya Windfighters, i don´t know why it usually is the underrated of the 3 Kayas, but judging by what i´ve seen in the videos of the youtube it´s a good shooter, i also liked the Kaya Khan, but 28# draw length isn´t sufficient.

Anyways, i was checking some arrows for it, and i have no idea what to buy, any ideas?
I found this ones, http://archery.ixpesports.nl/contents/e … rrows.html  which one would be more appropriate? I intend to shoot up to 45 meters and 3D competitions.

Thanks,
Gabriel
