Thanks for the link Geo.  I really hope there is someone in Turkey somewhere still making these bows.  I would love to get my hands on one of these little powerhouses.

I have the wind fighter which is basically the same as the kaya KTB as far as I know.  And I also have a Hwarang and I would say the Hwarang is definitely superior and worth the money in comparison to the wind fighter.  The KTB is a good starter bow, then if you fall in love with it, you upgrade.

I see.  It seems around the right price range.  I'm curious if the horn makes a difference compared to the Hwarang?

Well the first one is not a horn bow.  It looks to be the same as the YMG and the Hwarang.  If I'm not mistaken.

You can try ebay.  Sometimes you can find goldtip bundles at a discount price because they are blemished, meaning they have cosmetic flaws but otherwise shoot just fine.

Try a leather one.  I find it feels way better and I feel I have more control.

Are you shooting with a thumb draw?  It seems weird that it would hit you wrist.

Failure can be the best teacher.

Looking good, well done.  Now when you lose those arrows in the bushes it will hurt extra bad.

All this makes me really appreciate Master Kim in Valley Center, CA.  His shooting range is open to everyone interested.  No weird formalities, just nice normal people shooting in a beautiful setting.

Bluelake.  I love my Hwarang and appreciate the fast and helpful service you provide.  Its the trust factor that I feel you provide.  Especially when purchasing a bow for the first time.  Its basically a sure thing.  You never really know what your gonna get from ebay.  And your a shooter and not just a seller, thats important to me.   The Hwarang is totally worth it.

Your right Pedro, this does look similar to the hwarang.

Are they going to replace it?

Well thats disapointing.  Where did you buy it from and at what cost?  Whats you draw length?

Welcome.  What part of Sweden are you from?  My wife and I are thinking of moving there and this is the first time anyone from Sweden and chimed in at this forum.  Plenty of good places to shoot in the country side.  I got into archery for the meditation aspect as well.  After you get comfortable with your bow then you start to shoot allot with the mind. I Love that aspect of it.

Welcome.

Thanks for the links.  The more info the better.

Why be stingy with the info.  We are all friends here.

Yo Geo?  Did you already sell your Scythian style bow? If not, I'm curious what it would test at.

Thanks for the info.  Its possible that on the polish tests the korean bows are not being drawn to full potential.

Please do Geo.

Hopefully there is an amazing underground archery scene in North Korea that nobody knows about.  Probably not, but you never know.  There is allot going on the the Kim Jungs don't know aobut.  Maybe in a remote area of the mountains there is a traditional bowyer creating amazing horn bows in private.

Totally meant to be shot.  I think the bark may be flexible.  Im pretty sure the Hwarang has real bark on the outside, maybe its the way they slice it and glue it on that allows it to bend.  Not totally sure.

Here is a link to a good design for a leather thumb guard.  You will probably need to tweek the design a bit to your liking.   I  make a couple more lacing holes than the example and use sinew twine for the braiding, its thinner and stronger.
