Could it have been the employee's mistake? I couldn't speak directly to a customs officer. Maybe I should give them a call.
Some arrows from Finland came here no problem.
Gungdo rule: Never touch an other mans bow.  wink

In my case in Greece they kept my bow and asked me a lot of paper work, like my club ID and where I had originally purchased my bow from (it was a replacement). After a lot of phone calls, some emails, faxs and about 2 weeks waiting they let it go. It was when I broke my KTB I bought from Athens but I send it directly to KAYA and they send it to my address.

From my experience in some countries the bow is considered a weapon and needs special permit from the police to import. Please tell us how you solved it because... you are not the only one thinking of a new bow...  wink

GungSulWon is a maker/seller of horn bows and reseller of laminated bows. Beware the horn bow must be strung with heat treatment for a year and kept in a special heat box. Cost over 1.000$.

First of all I would call the airport customs with the following questions:
A) can I import a bow without a permit from a none e.u. country?
B) how much do I pay for customs?
C) can I import from e.u.?
D) where do I get a permit from?
I always heard/read of bows passing through customs with no problem but I had a deferent personal experience so I give advice accordingly. It's just a phone call.

Be careful of the airport customs, they can give you a hard time. Maybe paying a little extra to get it from a dealer is easier.

Gungsulwon? Maybe?

Hi guys,
I am a small business owner and a father. I have lots of time for internet browsing (for archery) when I am at work but only a few times a month for actual shooting. When not working I have a small boy who wants my company. I started archery back in 2009 because I wanted a more peaceful and cheap hobby than firearm shooting. Well the cheap part has not true. I also thought that It would be easier to find places to shoot a bow than a shotgun, but if you are truly responsible I think one should be really careful were he shoots the bow as well. I got a Samick Hunter Take Down but soon replaced it with a SKB. I don't like big bows. I was short drawing and shooting without studying or training a particular style for some years very occasionally. The closest range is an hours drive. The ONLY dedicated dealer in the country is 4 hours away. After a small brake I found my interest again but this time I thought to be more serious about it. I made some internet research and found the best bows and style for me were the ottoman and korean. Only then did I realize that the SKB had a proper way to be shot. That was about a year ago. Now I have a SKB and a KTB both 60lbs and Easton Eclipse 2315 arrows. I shoot 15-30m but looking forward to increase the distance dramatically. I have my own range (field) under construction which is more than 60 yards long. I draw little more than 30 inches. Recently changed my anchor point to a more Korean style (feather under the chin). I now use the torque too. My favorite is the KTB and when I can I'll try to buy a Hwarang.

Hope I didn't bore you.

Thank you for your welcome. From my little experience I think 2018 with 200gr points are underspined for 53 pounds. But I am not in a position to stand behind this. I am new to all this spine measurement etc. When I tested my bows for spineage I didn't use torque technic. I do now but my arrows are all flesched so I can't trust them for spine testing.
I didn't know that torque cancels spine. Can anyone answer Pedro's  question on torque vs spine.
If I get the chance I'll test my old GG with torque (if I have any GG left).

Hello, I am relatively new to archery. In my hometown there are no clubs or experienced archers. I was shooting free style, mediterranean short draw for some 4-5 years very occasionally. Only before some 9 months or so did I study the Korean style. In this months with the help of a friend in facebook I have end up choosing what I think to be the best arrows for my close range target practice: the Easton Eclipse 2315 31-32 inches, 80gr field points, 3x 3 inch feathers. I have been shooting them for 2-3 months now and are holding. Before I shot the GameGetters but they would bend easily due to alloy or spine. In close range the 60lbs bow is torture for any arrow. In my draw it's about 58 pounds force. Do you shoot close range 15-30m? What arrows do you use and how do they manage? Do you prefere aluminum?
