Very unfortunate that this old technology might fade away . . .   Absolutely awesome hunting arrow made of wood though.

I found some indications at the link above. For the standard bow version, an arrow up to 81 cm(32 inch) should be ok.

I haven't shot the bow yet as it is intended for training purpose.

Anyone still remmeber this old technology from Bill Sweetland?

I am not sure if Alaska Frontier Archery is still making compressed hemlock arrows with Bill's technology.  I called up and emailed the owner but no reply so far.  The website is still running even though the business is for sale: http://www.alaskafrontierarchery.com/index.html

I would love to get a dozen finished arrows for the 80# and 90# YMG  big_smile

For lower draw weight (70# and below), regular and long length versions can be drawn to 33".  Beyond 70#, the regular length version is limited to 31".

Any updates from Olivier?  Are the new shafts holding up?

Here is a very brief comparison of the three brands:

Saluki Turk - smooth draw due to the longer ears; harder to string with the walk through method due to the slippery and curvy surface

SMG & YMG - smooth draw due to the lamination material; easy to string with the walk through method

Grozer Short Turk: very smooth draw due to the organic material inside; harder to string due to the slippery and curvy surface

Grozer G4 Bashkir: not so smooth draw even with the long ears: harder to string due to the slippery and curvy surface

Hi Tiwaz, sorry for the  late reply.  The brace height, I think, should be measured from the inside and the lowest point of the handle to the string.

I ordered two dozens high spine bamboo shafts from Mark last year.  They didn't come with Tiger's marks though.

Just FYI: The cylindrical thumb ring actually produce a cleaner release than the tear shaped one.   big_smile

Sorry folks!  I made a mistake in measuring the brace height.  Here are the revised measurements:

60# @31" KTB: a tad under 6"
70# @28" SMG: a tad under 5.5"
80# @28" YMG: a tad under 6"

43

Bluelake, please make sure the brace height is 5.5" before you ship them out.  Thanks!

As a side note, how does your string stretch over time?  Hence the brace height is decreased.

This is an observation of the brace height of the different laminated Korean bows:

60# @31" KTB: a tad over 6.5"
70# @28" SMG: a tad under 6"
80# @28" YMG: a tad over 6.5"

Note: I tried to keep the string as untwisted as possible.  I really thought Korean bowyers would try to maintain the 5.5" brace height.  Or am I missing something?

Waiting for others to respond publicly.  Thomas, please state the payment terms, price and delivery information.  Other members who are interested, please pay Thomas directly.

Thomas, one member wants to have very clear signature of the bowyer, draw weight and date of production marked on the bow.  Will the bowyer be able to accomodate?  For the member who wants the bowyer's markings, we are all ordering regular length and centrer tillered YMG.  I don't think it's a good idea to have an odd ball long length order and two regular length.  Thomas, what do you think?

Thomas, our Holland friend got sceptical and decided to skip for now.  He joked back by saying he could help out the bowyer to tiller very heavy bow  big_smile .

Okay, not so good news . . . The bowyer thinks 90# - 100# @28
