Sure, it's good to 30" draw max and requires very careful stringing.  Laminated Korean traditional bows are so easy to string!

There have been quite a lot of biocomposite breakage due to careless stringing or unexpected delamination.  So, the archer get to take it easy.  This is the third generation of this technology - someone correct me if I am wrong - and is quite stable compared to the previous version which required quite a bit of adjustments after stringing.

And yes, there is horn on the belly and sinew on the back.  However, the construction is different from a real horn/sinew composite bow.  The horn and sinew are not directly glued to the core but are encased in a plate of fiberglass and another material.

Draw wise this beauty is soft and smooth compared to a Nomad G4 Bashkir 80#.

As the topic implies, anyone here has extensive experience shooting with the pronged ring?  I hear the release is different from the female ring.

Raven is wondering the details of this bow; so here are some photos.  Note I don't shoot with it.  It's only for weight training and a collector's item.   big_smile

Not sure if Mr. Poletti's arrowheads are hand forged only, or drop forged and machined, or casted and machined:

Yes, it is.  There are heavier carbon shafts out on the market.

Thomas, is this Tong-ah made of bamboo or plastic?

We have to take into account the mass of the different arrows.  The Khan user shot carbon arrows while the KTB user shot home-made bamboo arrows.

Scruffy geezer shooting a 40# Khan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofp2Z35YuG0 , really fun to watch, it´s fast and smooth, now i´m in doubt whether to get a Khan or Windfighter, i´m aware of the differences, and i never fancied the KTB.
Look at this KTB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nedFbg7W … re=related not even closer to the Khan in speed, it might be the way he´s releasing, but it´s a lot slower.

Gabriel,

The KTB is capable of 33" of draw, while the Windfighter is around 36".

Gabriel wrote:

Warbow, i don´t know my draw length and even if it was, say 32" and the max length of a bow is 28" i´d have to respect that, i´m a foot archer but intend to try some horseback shootings in the future, i was thinking of getting a 45 to 50 # it can be used for either 3D or horseback archery, i read the draw is smoother in comparison to ordinary bows. Is this bow resistant? Thanks for commenting.

Gabriel, do you do horseback archery or are you a foot archer?  If you shoot on horseback, get a Windfighter that has a draw weight 40% to 50% below your maximum draw effort: for example, you normally shoot 70# on foot and 35# should be your draw weight on horseback.  Just like the KTB, the Windfighter is available in a 60# version.

What is your draw length?  Do you draw to 33" or more?  The Windfighter is the bigger version of the KTB.

For arrows, you might want to try bamboo or Goldtip 34" carbon shafts.

Warbeast, i watched some of your shootings in the youtube, and got impressed by its speed and performance,( i'm talking about the Windfighter), although this model is quite underrated in comparison to the other two Kaya models the KTA and the Kahn, i'd go for the Windfighter as my first choice, a horseback archer from Germany also recommended this one as a great shooter, where could i find it in the USA? I wrote to the greatree store, but so far no replay. What poundage would you recommend for shooting at 3D competitions in which targets are 52 meters away? What arrows do you use, and the size has any influence? Thanks in Advance,
Gabriel

For the experts, would a Su Gakji more suitable for pulling very heavy draw weight and archers with very short thumbs?

I have very short thumbs and find it difficult to wrap the index and middle fingers around the thumb, without disturbing the nocked arrow.
