Can I use the strings that I have for my 50@31 KTB on my 60@28 hwarang? The strings are 119.5cm with a 20string count.

Oh ya I was shooting 236ft with my hunting tips which are only 100gr instead of my 125 field tips.

It's a computer issue. Doesn't work on my Mac but works fine on my iPad.

Nick,
I only start to shake if I hold ten seconds or longer but even then it is more of a wobble. I feel it's because of the short stature of the bows. I don't find it effects my accuracy though.

Dziki,
Both my bows are 48-49" tip to tip. I draw my KTB just over 32" and should be there with my Hwarang by spring. I think the max draw length for both of them is around 33.

Why do my posts get cut off? Shooting a 396 grain arrow my hwarang came in at 227 ft per second and my 50@31 Kaya came in at 202 shooting the same arrows.

Unfortunately I have no photos. The elk rut started late this year and totally missed bow season.i will have a chance in December as there is a late deer season.
On another note I got to speed test the girl today. My bow is 60@28 and I draw to around 31

I just received my new Hwarang and man is it a rocket. My old bow is a 50@31 kaya and the Hwarang is 60@28. The Hwarang is a bit louder than the Kaya is there any way I can fix that?

Bow season starts here tuesday and with any luck I'll be posting pictures of my new rocket between the antlers of a bull elk.

Thanks
Chad

I've just ordered a Hwarang.

Have you sold the bow? I might be interested but I will have to figure out all the extra costs to get it to Canada.

Where are you located? Some photos would be nice as well. I might be interested but I can't promise anything.

Hook at the black arrow.

Three rivers is where I got my KTB from. I have had no problems with the string being to thick for regular arrows either. They will basically have everything you need to get started.

You should have no issues with that draw length. I shoot a 48

Once you get used to shooting a asiatic bow with a thumb ring you won't go back to a traditional recurve. They are just simply way more fun to shoot. At 3d shoots people almost make fun of my little bow until they see an arrow come off of it then the questions start.

You need to keep in mind that you are likely holding 70-75lbs at 33 inches. I have a 48

I would like to say I'm interested but I have to sell a bow first. My wife just doesn't seem to understand that a man should own many bows of all shapes and sizes.

I shoot the 48" KTB and draw it to around 32" without a problem so far. As for weight i would stick with what you are used to unless you want to hunt.

The bamboo arrows I have from outlay are great. The only thing I don't like is the nocks as they slide in the string and make it difficult to make a consistent knock. I still have 50 bare shafts to turn into arrows but I am sure they will be great.

I had hoped to hunt with my korean bow last fall but it never worked out. This year should be a different story as I have holidays during how season. I will be using my 50lb bow with a thumb ring and any luck will bring me home an elk?

Are you ordering bare shafts or arrows? I ordered 50lb spine and likely shoot closer to 55 or 60 at my draw and they shoot fine. Of 15 complete arrows I have broken two, one just broke and the other was hit by another arrow. Oulay was great to deal with though. I still have 50 bare shafts to make into arrows.

Do any of you shoot vanes instead of feathers?

Due to injury I can't shoot for another month. I haven't been practicing much though even before, when I am shooting I try to shoot 50 arrows a day. Given my small backyard range (18m)this only takes about twenty minutes. My consistency usually goes to crap after about 30 arrows.

Sometime this year I want to upgrade to a Hwarang. I currently have a KTB from Kaya and love it but I want something a little stronger to hunt with this fall.

I use the step through with my ktb and a stringer for my recurve. I used the step through with my recurve for years and no problems. I was pretty careful though.

I check this forum a couple of times a day looking for any updates.
