Tony,
You are correct about Trad archer putting carbon shafts within aluminium shafts to make the whole able to take 100# or more. There are a few carbon arrow brands that are 100# capable shafts:
(1) Gold Tip
(2) Alaska Bow Hunting Supply
(3) Arrow Dynamics
Sissara, here is a photo of a Korean warbow.
This might help: http://www.koreanarchery.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=223
100# dumbells and kettlebells help out too . . . I think
Indeed, the replacement looks so ballard!
Tony, the bow in question is indeed the YMG. The 80# YMG can be drawn to 32" without issues. We will ask for the export version.
I am putting together a group purchase for heavy-weight Hwarang bows (with real bark). Our group need one more person to make the purchase possible. Anyone interested in a 90# to 100# Hwarang bow?
We can purchase those arrows shown in the video too .
I too have Alibow's arrows but they are inconsistent in spine.
Gabriel, if you were to get more arrows from Zhang Li, only get the carbon shafts.
kalichakra, how should we store the KTB? How did you originally store it?
What about the KTB sring? Will it have complete serving at the loops?
I too have the same issue with the three KTBs I got from the States. I wonder why Kaya sent Korean tillered KTBs to the oversea market. Other than that the string is off centre, the bows are fine structural wise.
Holy cow, you will be able to pull a 100# bow in no time or even more!!!
Welcome aboard! You have a very big backyard!!!
I hope your KTB and thumb ring will turn out okay.
Are those shafts you ordered from the UK from Mark Hill?
Olivier Coulazou wrote:WarBow wrote:Olivier, did you get the new shafts from Jaap? Any photos?
Not that fast I was refering to shafts I ordered 2 weeks ago from my ebay supplier in UK. These are not marked "Tiger", allthough.
If I order shafts from Jaap, which may happen when I'm fixed with the spine I need, I will post some pictures.
Olivier, did you get the new shafts from Jaap? Any photos?
Holy cow, that never happened to me before . . . Mind you I have the regular KTB.
storm wrote:Pull is same way, release is different, thumb release string leave like when you use release aid in compound bows.
Well, this depends on the type of ring. With the korean ring, the string is actually deviated more than with 3 finger draws, but the advantage is that you don't have to synchronize fingers. Though the big advantage of this technique is that you can compensate for this by using lateral torsion.
Powerflights 300 are great arrows for these bows. Almost 33" with nock and point. I shoot them from 5.5 to 8 gpp and they are very fast with Korean bows. Great value for money. I would only use something else if I had access to longer Korean carbon arrows.
Storm,
Goldtip is more willing to make longer than 32" carbon shafts. It's just a matter of quantity I guess. Is there a way to purchase uncut Korean arrow shafts?
Okay, we need the details
Hopefully, dish detergent will work and get rid of most of the grease like substance.
The KTB can be drawn to 33" or 34". You just have to be more bow fit .
Thomas mentions 5.5" as the optimal brace height for Korean bows. I understand a shorter brace height will invite forearm slapping by the bow string. Has anyone experimented with a longer brace height like 6.25"?
Master Hannu, I am not as bow fit as you are. Feel free to shoot a video of shooting the 90# Hungarian base bow.
Gabriel, it's mainly a training bow.
As a point of curiosity, how would the arrow fly, if we were to cock the arrow horizontal. Please assume fletching will be cut hands .
Thanks, Thomas! I guess I will have to experiment when I receive one . . .
